1. Public Record

1 December 1987, about 07:15. A retired policeman walking Ilkley Moor toward East Morton to see his father-in-law. Camera and compass in case of fog. He uses the name Philip Spencer later. On a small rise, a dark green figure about four feet tall, oversized head, long thin arms. It gestures. He reads it as stay back. He takes the photograph anyway. The figure runs. He follows, loses it in fog, then sees a whitish double-saucer rise with a loud hum. He does not get a frame of the craft. He changes his route and is late into another town.

Peter Hough points him to hypnosis with Jim Singleton on 16 March 1988. Under that session the gesture becomes goodbye, and a missing hour becomes a lift into the craft and two films, one of which he will not describe. The print of the green figure goes into the papers. Sceptics point at Menwith Hill and Leeds Bradford. The moor had already been a sighting ground. The camera is the only object this page can hold.

A morning walk. One still. A later hour that arrives in a chair.

Dark green and about four feet tall with an oversized head and long, thin arms.

Spencer's first description

2. Date of Incident

1 December 1987, 07:15. Hypnosis 16 March 1988.

3. Location

Ilkley Moor, West Yorkshire. Approximate 53°54 N 001°49 W.

4. Official Narrative

No police crime and no Ministry recovery. Official narrative is a retired officer with a camera and a later hypnotic account. The print is news, not evidence logged as unknown biology.

5. Witness Layer

Spencer. Hough. Singleton. The father-in-law who was not reached on time. Press. Later moor walkers.

The alien is actually waving goodbye to him, not telling him to stay away.

After the March 1988 session

6. Recovery Logistics

One photograph. A compass. No craft frame. No tissue.

7. Assessment

A moor-and-still file. Keep 07:15 and the compass so the walk is ordinary. Keep the first reading of the gesture separate from the hypnotic goodbye. Hough and Singleton change the file's shape. Do not write Menwith Hill as a solution because it is nearby. Do not write the withheld second film as proof of anything except a man who would not speak it.

8. Materials & Remains

The print. Press copy. Hypnosis notes as reported. The moor.

9. Key Personnel

Philip Spencer : Walker and shutter.

Peter Hough : The investigator.

Jim Singleton : 16 March 1988.

10. Aftermath

The figure becomes a British entity slide. Spencer stays a pseudonym. The moor does not yield a second frame from that morning.

11. Current Archive Status

Status: 1 Dec 1987 still. Later hypnosis. No craft frame. Figure untyped.

Confidence: High that a photograph of a small green figure was taken that morning and published. Low that the hypnotic hour is the same event. Low that the figure is an organism this archive can name.

Filing note

A retired officer, a compass against fog, a four-foot green shape on a rise, a shutter instead of a step back, a chase into white air, a hum, a chair in March that rewrote the hand.

Stay away, then goodbye. Same arm. Two readings. The print does not choose.
