HASTINGS
East Sussex coast. Scattered nights in later MoD releases. Promenade, fishing fleet, Channel traffic already in the sky. Not Warminster. Not Rendlesham. Dated cards remain. No brand. No object.

1. Public Record
Hastings, East Sussex. A south-coast town under civil air and Channel weather that still throws up nights the local paper and later MoD releases will print. Not Warminster's hill. Not Rendlesham's wood. A promenade, a fishing fleet, and a sky that already has everything a sceptic needs: air ambulance, Channel traffic, Venus over the pier. That default is real. So are the cards that still will not sit on it.
Released files give dated Hastings lines instead of a brand. 14 February, 05:30: an object like a helicopter that hovers, then shoots off, red flashing lights. 11 August, 19:00: one spherical dark grey thing moving south. 16 May 2006, 19:41: two witnesses at a kitchen window. 2 October, 20:45: eight orange lights on an oblong, no noise. Inland toward Battle and the downs picks up the same stack. Enough calls to keep a local desk alive. Not enough to earn a triangle name.
A pier. A Channel. Dated cards that never got a forest.
Not Warminster's hill. Not Rendlesham's wood.
Those two names are why Hastings stayed unbranded. A promenade does not photograph like a wood. That is not the same as an empty sky. It is a reason compilers skipped the town and a reason this folder should not.
2. Date of Incident
Scattered nights across late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries. File examples include 14 February 05:30, 11 August 19:00, 16 May 2006 19:41, 2 October 20:45. No single date owns the town.
3. Location
Hastings and neighbouring East Sussex coast, with inland talk toward Battle. Approximate 50°51 N 000°35 E.
4. Official Narrative
No ministry close on a town-wide event. Official-adjacent talk is aircraft and planets. MoD releases list individual Hastings cards among a Sussex hundred. Police logs exist as calls.
5. Witness Layer
Promenade and inland residents. Local press. Channel workers. Later readers of the released Sussex file.
Eight orange lights on an oblong shaped object, no noise.
No noise is the expensive word on a coast that already owns helicopters. An oblong with eight oranges is not Venus. It is also not automatically a triangle. File the card. Do not promote it.
Enough calls to keep a local UFO desk alive, not enough to earn a triangle name.
A desk that stays local is a finding. Brands are what other towns paid for with a wood or a hill. Hastings paid with a pier and a file dump. That is the honest economy.
6. Recovery Logistics
Press clips. Released MoD / Sussex cards. No object on the shingle.
7. Assessment
A tourist coast will see lights. File them as a dated stack, not as a flap with a flag. When a night is better than Venus, keep that card. This page is the town, not one intercept. Air ambulance and Channel traffic get the first chair. Eight silent oranges still get a line.
This folder files Hastings as south-coast weather with a thin unidentified remainder. Keep Warminster and Rendlesham where they are. Do not promote a pier into a wood.
8. Materials & Remains
Local clips. Released Sussex cards. No hardware.
9. Key Personnel
Hastings and East Sussex witnesses : The stack and the dated cards.
10. Aftermath
The pier stays a pier. The calls stay local. The brand never arrives, which may be the honest ending. The released file keeps the dates even when the town does not.
11. Current Archive Status
Status: South coast stack. Dated cards. No brand.
Confidence: High that Hastings produced local light reports listed in later releases. Low that they share a type. Low that any one night is a second Rendlesham.
Filing note
A Channel promenade, a fishing town with too much sky already explained, dated cards in a Sussex dump, eight silent oranges on an oblong, a remainder that still is not Venus every time.
The brand never arrives. That may be the most accurate sentence on the coast.
