VARGINHA
January 1996. Multiple civilian and military-linked reports from Varginha, Brazil, of a crashed object and at least two non-human entities. Three young women reported a close daytime encounter. Brazilian forces recovered the entities. U.S. military assets later removed the material from the country.

1. Public Record
In mid-January 1996 a series of events unfolded in and around the city of Varginha in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The most widely known civilian account came from three young women who encountered a strange bipedal creature crouched against a wall in a vacant lot on the afternoon of 20 January. They described it as roughly the size of a small adult but thinner, with brown oily skin, a large head carrying three distinct ridges or bumps, and large red eyes. The being appeared injured or in distress. The women fled and later returned with relatives, finding only disturbed ground and an unusual smell.
In the days surrounding that sighting, Brazilian military and fire-service units conducted a recovery operation. At least two non-human entities were captured alive. One was taken to a local hospital before transfer to a military facility. A second was recovered in a different location. Within a short period a United States military aircraft arrived in the region to collect the bodies and associated material. The transfer was conducted quietly and the material left Brazil.
The case received renewed attention decades later through the investigative work of filmmaker James Fox, who produced two documentaries examining the civilian and military testimony. Those films brought forward additional witnesses, including medical and military personnel who had remained silent for years.
It had arms and legs, like a human being, but also horns, three horns.
2. Date of Incident
Primary civilian sighting: 20 January 1996, approximately 15:30 local time. Military recovery activity and the subsequent transfer of the entities took place across the surrounding days, roughly 13-22 January 1996.
3. Location
Jardim Andere neighbourhood and surrounding areas of Varginha, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Approximate coordinates 21°33 S 45°26 W. Urban residential zone with vacant lots and nearby Brazilian Army facilities. Final transfer of the recovered material is believed to have passed through Campinas before leaving the country.
4. Official Narrative
The Brazilian Army conducted an inquiry and later released a report that dismissed the core events as misidentification and rumour. The official position remains that no non-human entities were recovered and that the reported military movements were routine. That account is inconsistent with the volume and consistency of civilian, medical and military testimony that has accumulated since 1996.
5. Witness Layer
The three primary civilian witnesses were sisters Liliane and Valquíria Silva and their friend Kátia Xavier. Their descriptions of the creature have remained stable across decades of interviews. Other residents reported unusual military vehicle movements, covered loads, and restricted access around local barracks and medical facilities in the same period.
A local military policeman, Marco Eli Chereze, is reported to have handled one of the captured entities and to have died shortly afterward from a rapidly progressing infection. Medical personnel later described seeing at least one of the beings inside a hospital setting. Filmmaker James Fox’s two documentaries gathered a number of these delayed statements on camera, including accounts from individuals who had previously refused to speak publicly.
Its skull was droplet-shaped… it had a small mouth, and lilac droplet-shaped eyes.
6. Recovery Logistics
Brazilian units secured the entities and moved them first to local medical and military facilities. A United States military cargo aircraft subsequently arrived to take possession of the bodies and related material. The transfer was conducted without public announcement. No craft debris has entered independent hands, but the sequence of recovery, temporary holding, and foreign removal is supported by multiple independent witness streams.
7. Assessment
The Varginha case combines a clear daytime civilian sighting with a coordinated recovery operation and an international transfer of the recovered biological material. The three women’s encounter is the most accessible part of the file. The military and medical testimony, particularly as assembled in James Fox’s documentaries, supplies the operational layer that turns a single sighting into a recovery event.
The official Brazilian denial does not adequately address the number of people who have described seeing the entities in custody or the logistics of the subsequent transfer. The simpler reading of the available evidence is that non-human entities were recovered in Varginha in January 1996 and were removed from the country by U.S. military assets.
8. Materials & Remains
No publicly verified physical samples remain in Brazil. Contemporary sketches based on the women’s descriptions exist. Later witness drawings and verbal descriptions from medical personnel add further detail. The bodies themselves are believed to have left Brazil under U.S. control. Medical records related to the death of Marco Eli Chereze have never been fully released.
9. Key Personnel
Liliane Silva, Valquíria Silva, Kátia Xavier, Primary civilian witnesses of the 20 January encounter.
Marco Eli Chereze, Military policeman who handled one of the entities and died shortly afterward from infection.
Dr. Ítalo Venturelli, Physician who stated he observed one of the beings in a hospital setting.
James Fox, Filmmaker whose two documentaries gathered extensive new testimony on the recovery and transfer.
10. Aftermath
Varginha became a lasting focal point for Brazilian interest in the subject. The three women have maintained their original account. Military and medical witnesses have continued to surface at intervals, particularly after the release of James Fox’s films. The Brazilian official position has not changed. The U.S. side has never publicly acknowledged the transfer.
I’ve seen the devil.
11. Current Archive Status
Status: Active archival. Recovery and transfer case.
Confidence: High that the three women encountered a non-human entity in daylight. High that Brazilian forces recovered at least two such entities. High that U.S. military assets removed the material from Brazil. Low that either government will formally confirm the events in the near term.
Filing note
This file sits higher in the stack than its official status would suggest. The civilian sighting is clean. The recovery sequence is supported by enough independent voices to treat as operational fact. The quiet arrival of a U.S. aircraft to collect the remains is the detail that moves the case out of local anomaly and into something larger.
James Fox’s documentaries did not invent the story. They simply made it harder to ignore the people who had been carrying pieces of it for decades. Some recoveries stay buried. This one keeps working its way back to the surface.
