1. Public Record

Goose Bay, Labrador. A long runway at the edge of the North Atlantic. USAF and RCAF weather. Intercept nights across the 1950s and after. Lights over the approach. Scrambles that come home without a type. Falconbridge is the 1975 Ontario square. This page is the Labrador hole so Sudbury is not asked to eat the coast.

A base that watches the polar route will generate unknowns. That is why it was built. It is also why the remainder has to work harder than a lake light. Compilers fold Goose Bay into a tour with Loring and Wurtsmith. Those are other dirt. Write Happy Valley or do not file the scramble.

A Labrador strip. Fighters up. A light that leaves no forwarding address.

Goose Bay sat on ferry and bomber routes that already trained crews to name Soviet weather. An unnamed light over that route is either a miss or the thing the route was not built to name. File both as unpaid bills. Do not let 1975 Ontario collect the invoice.

Same country, different decade, different job. Radar dome versus coastal strip. Keep both or mash both.

2. Date of Incident

Multiple nights across the Cold War intercept years. No single date owns the base. 1950s sit first in many stacks.

3. Location

CFB Goose Bay / Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Labrador. Approximate 53°19 N 060°25 W.

4. Official Narrative

Working intercept base. Official narrative is training and polar warning. Individual nights may sit unidentified in later talk without a public type.

5. Witness Layer

USAF and RCAF crews and tower. Later compilers. Falconbridge and Loring as neighbouring weather.

Cheap closes can be true. They still have to own the nights that came home without a tail number.

County first. Tour second. That is the only way a base card stays honest.

6. Recovery Logistics

Logs and later interviews. No public object from the strip.

7. Assessment

Start with the runway and the job. Goose Bay exists to see things early. Some of those things stay unnamed. File the unnamed remainder. Do not annex Ontario. Do not annex Maine.

This folder files Goose Bay as Labrador intercept weather. Keep Falconbridge as 11 November 1975. Keep Loring as Loring. No tray on the snow.

Polar ferry routes trained crews to expect company. Company with no tail number is the remainder. Happy Valley keeps the strip. Ontario keeps the dome.

Goose Bay's job was early warning on routes that already had Soviet weather in the briefing. An unnamed light over that job is either a miss in the briefing or the thing the briefing was not built to name. Tower logs, scramble orders, and empty gun cameras are the inventory. None of those is a tray in the snow.

8. Materials & Remains

Base. Crew talk. No hardware.

9. Key Personnel

Goose Bay tower and crews : The strip.

10. Aftermath

The base keeps working. Compilers keep adding it to northern-tier lists. This page exists so Labrador has to be said.

11. Current Archive Status

Status: Strip real. Nights untyped.

Confidence: High that Goose Bay logged intercepts of unknowns across the Cold War years. Low that any one night is typed. High that it is not Falconbridge.

Filing note

A Labrador runway, polar traffic, scrambles that came home clean, an Ontario dome on this shelf that must not be allowed to eat the coast.

The fighters came home. The light kept the Atlantic.
