1. Public Record

Cariari, Costa Rica, 1971. A group of schoolchildren in a rural settlement report small beings and a craft that does not stay to be measured. Teachers and later local paper take the night. Central America already holds other cards on this shelf. This one is a schoolyard hour, not a recovery. The children go home. The object does not leave a tray.

Compilers later weld it to the 1970s flap weather that ran from the States through the isthmus. That weather is real as a publishing season. It is not a type. Keep Cariari as Cariari: a settlement name, a year, a classroom that had to explain why the children were late or frightened or both.

A school. A clearing. Hands that came back empty.

Limón is banana and rail weather, not a desert mesa. Children walking a settlement edge is ordinary. What they said they met is the expensive sentence. Later Spanish-language clips keep the year and lose the hour. Keep the hour if the hour can be found. If it cannot, keep the year and the empty hands and do not invent a clock.

Empty hands are the file. A craft that will not sit is the remainder. Do not promote a schoolyard into a landing pad because the year is 1971.
