1. Public Record

Wurtsmith Air Force Base, Michigan, late October 1975. Same fortnight as Loring. A SAC bomber house on Lake Huron with nuclear weapons on the line. Security and radar report an unidentified over the weapons area. Fighters go up from the region and do not bring a tail number home. The night sits in the same NORAD weather as Maine, Montana, and the other northern-tier pads that logged low visitors that week.

Official summaries reach for helicopters and confusion. Crews on the pad reach for something that would not be a helicopter where a helicopter should not hover. This folder already holds Loring. Wurtsmith is the Michigan rhyme, not a copy-paste. Different lake. Same week. Same empty intercept.

A Huron bomber house. A pad that called. Fighters that came home light.

Security and radar report an unidentified over the weapons area.

On the Wurtsmith hours

2. Date of Incident

Late October 1975, in the same window as Loring (27-31 October cluster across the tier).

3. Location

Wurtsmith AFB, Oscoda, Michigan. Approximate 44°27 N 083°24 W.

4. Official Narrative

Unidentified in the hours that matter, then helicopters and weather in the summaries. Official narrative does not concede a weapons-pad breach that changed the inventory.

5. Witness Layer

Wurtsmith security and radar. Regional fighter crews. NORAD duty. Loring and other tier crews as neighbouring nights, not as this pad.

Fighters go up from the region and do not bring a tail number home.

On the intercept

Same fortnight as Loring.

6. Recovery Logistics

Logs as released in the later northern-tier literature. No wreckage. No public weapon moved.

7. Assessment

Do not let Loring eat Wurtsmith. Two pads, two lakes, one week is a pattern, not one story told twice. A helicopter close has to work at both ends of the map on nights when crews who live with helicopters say no. Sometimes it can. Sometimes it looks like the only word a summary is allowed.

This folder files Wurtsmith as the Michigan night in the October chain. The pad is the spine. The empty intercept is the second sentence. Weather is allowed in the paragraph. It does not get the title.

8. Materials & Remains

NORAD and base mentions in later releases. No object.

9. Key Personnel

Wurtsmith security and radar : The call.

Regional fighter crews : The miss.

10. Aftermath

Wurtsmith closes in 1993. Oscoda keeps a runway and a memory. The October chain stays the way civilians write the northern tier.

11. Current Archive Status

Status: Oct 1975. Huron pad. Fighters miss. Same week as Loring.

Confidence: High that Wurtsmith logged unknown traffic in that fortnight and that fighters did not close it. Low that helicopter is a complete close. Low that the object was typed.

Filing note

A Michigan bomber house on Huron, a weapons pad in the same week Maine called, fighters sent up that came home without a number, a summary that reached for helicopters because the other noun would not type.

Different lake. Same week. The chain is the point of keeping this page beside Loring.
