1. Public Record

Bonnybridge, Falkirk. A town of a few thousand, four miles west of the burgh, sitting in what the papers later call the Falkirk Triangle with Denny and Larbert. January 1992: James Walker driving toward Droves Loan sees a large triangle at low altitude that will not be any aircraft he knows. Through that year the calls stack. Orange and white spheres over fields and roads. Silent triangles. Metal cigars. Radios and ignitions misbehaving in the usual flap grammar. Councillor Billy Buchanan starts writing them down because the volume will not let him treat them as one drunk night.

By the end of 1992 crews are camped in fields and leaving with empty notebooks. Sightings do not stop. Estimates in later write-ups run to hundreds a year and then to a round three hundred as a slogan. Buchanan writes to Tony Blair in 1997 and gets no inquiry that this folder can file. Military traffic and atmospheric odds are the official-adjacent closes. The town keeps the nickname whether the sky earns it every night or not.

A country road in January. A councillor with a notebook. A prime minister who did not answer with a team.

A huge triangle-shaped aircraft at a low altitude that looked nothing like any other aircraft he had ever seen.

James Walker, January 1992

2. Date of Incident

Cluster from January 1992 through the mid-1990s, with talk continuing as a local brand.

3. Location

Bonnybridge and neighbouring Falkirk towns. Approximate 55°59 N 003°53 W.

4. Official Narrative

No MoD identification that closes the triangle years. Official-adjacent talk is aircraft and atmosphere. Blair does not send a commission.

5. Witness Layer

James Walker. Hundreds of later residents as counted by Buchanan. Camera crews who went home light. Buchanan as the man who would not drop the book.

Buchanan even wrote to then-recently elected Prime Minister Tony Blair in 1997 to demand an investigation.

On the letter that did not produce a team

News broadcasters camped in fields looking to experience a close encounter, sadly going away without having seen a UFO.

On the 1992 media stall

6. Recovery Logistics

Notebooks and press. No object from Droves Loan. No ministry tray.

7. Assessment

A flap that lasts years is not one light. It is also not automatically a corridor. Walker on Droves Loan is a single clean sentence. Three hundred a year is a slogan until someone shows the log. Buchanan's notebook is the reason Bonnybridge outlived a weekend. Media camping and leaving empty is the reason sceptics sleep well.

This folder files the Triangle as a working town with a stack of calls and no recovered craft. Military aircraft can live in that sky. They do not get to own every ignition that died on a back road. Blair's silence is not a finding. It is only silence.

8. Materials & Remains

Press. Buchanan's counts. No hardware.

9. Key Personnel

James Walker : January 1992, Droves Loan.

Billy Buchanan : The notebook and the letter to Blair.

10. Aftermath

Bonnybridge keeps the title in every Scottish weird list. Conferences come and go. The road toward Droves Loan is still a road.

11. Current Archive Status

Status: 1992 onward. Falkirk calls. Notebook. No object.

Confidence: High that 1992 opened a multi-year stack of local reports and that Buchanan logged them. Low that any one triangle is typed. Low that the annual count is a measured rate.

Filing note

A Falkirk back road in January, a triangle that would not be an aircraft a local man knew, a councillor who started a book because the phone would not stop, crews in a field with nothing to point a lens at, a letter to Downing Street that did not come back as a team.

He wrote them down. That is how a town becomes a triangle.
