Ray Santilli offers a film he says was shot in 1947 after a recovery, a body on a table, hands in black-and-white doing work a Fox audience had never been asked to watch at teatime. The broadcast does the rest. A generation learns a torso. Later Santilli says the film was a reconstruction around a few frames he could not show. The dummy becomes the official cheap close. The argument does not die with it.

This folder already holds Roswell. This page is not Roswell. It is a 1995 object that taught people what a recovered body was supposed to look like. That lesson outlived the confession. Museum dolls and cinema dolls have the same split. Here the cinema arrived first.

Fox puts it in living rooms. Special-effects men later describe foam and fine sculpture. Santilli keeps a clause about a few frames he says he could not show. Those frames have never stood in a lab this folder can cite. What stood was the broadcast. A torso at teatime is a cultural recovery even when the reel is a dummy. 1947 does not owe that torso a ranch.
